Urvashi Rautela breaks silence on her ‘obscene’ Dabidi Dibidi song with Nandamuri Balakrishna: ‘Everything happened so…’ | Bollywood Life

Urvashi Rautela and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s song Dabidi Dibidi from their recently released film Daaku Maharaaj faced public condemnation because of its dance steps which many referred to as inappropriate. Netizens were quick to mock Shekhar Master’s choreography as ‘crass’ and ‘vulgar’. Urvashi has finally reacted to the criticism her song received, and explained that the team didn’t anticipate such a reaction.
In a recent interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India, Urvashi Rautela said that the song Dabidi Dibidi was made particularly for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fans, and that every lyric was written to align with their mindset. “When you look at my rehearsal clips, everything went really well. It was like how we usually choreograph for any song. I was working with Master Shekar, with whom I’ve collaborated before this was my fourth time. So it wasn’t like I was shocked or doing something completely out of the ordinary. During rehearsals, everything was smooth and under control. But honestly, everything happened so suddenly that it’s been hard to assess why people are talking about the choreography in this way. We didn’t realise it would be received like this because, during rehearsals, everything went as planned,” Urvashi added.
Urvashi also revealed that she was surprised by how the song was received. “We never expected people to talk about it in this manner. As a team, we truly didn’t anticipate this reaction,” she said.
Composed by S Thaman, the music video of the song Dabidi Dibidi, featured Urvashi Rautela dressed in a crop top which was paired with skirt. Nadamuri Balakrishna shocked many with his dance moves which featured him hitting her belly button, and pulling her up by her outfit. Soon, clips from the popular music video went viral on social media and netizens called it both vulgar and inappropriate.
As reported by Koimoi, the Telugu movie was made with a budget of 100 crore.
