Senegal artisans join Dakar Biennal for the first time

The Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Arts is well underway. Originally launched in 1989, the festival is dedicated to showcasing the best of African continent’s art. This year marks the first time local artisans in Dakar have been invited to participate in the prestigious event. Five local craftsmen have come together for the joint exhibition reinterpreting the theme of the hippopotamus. Story by Clemence Waller.
