MUST-SEE: California Firefighters Do the Most ‘Merica’ Thing Ever in Midst of Devastating Fires

It goes without saying that what we’re seeing out of the Los Angeles area in California right now is heartbreaking beyond words.

At least two lives have been lost to the wildfires. Entire communities are devastated, wiped out, destroyed. There have been the mass evacuations of people who don’t know if they’ll have anything left when they finally get to return home.  Worse still, the fires continue to spread, seemingly with no end in sight.

And, to compound it all, there has predictably been grotesquely incompetent Democrat (but I repeat myself) leadership at the local and state levels throughout the process.

In the midst of such tragedy, where everything seems hopeless and lost, it’s hard – nearly impossible – to find any bright spots.

But they are there.

As evidence, watch below as California firefighters work to take down an American flag to prevent it, too, from catching fire. As it’s taken down, another person in the background – presumably another firefighter – makes sure the man who took it down remembers to not let it touch the ground:

Because fires, unfortunately, are not an uncommon thing in the Golden State, we’ve seen some flag rescues from firefighters before, including here:

And here:

And here as well:

Sadly, there is nothing left of a mobile home park in the Pacific Palisades. But one thing that did remain standing tall was an American flag, burnt and looking a little worse for wear but still flying and waving in the wind:

The fire erupted on Tuesday afternoon near the Palisades Hills Recreation Center and by nightfall, 30,000 residents were evacuated. In an update Wednesday morning, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone said they estimate 1,000 structures have been destroyed.

Amid the smoke and devastation, Good Day LA’s Gigi Graciette shared an emotional image – while burnt and tattered, an American flag stood proudly over a mobile home park.

Watch:

Please continue to keep all in the impacted areas and in the path of the wildfires in your thoughts and prayers. They need them now more than ever.
